Pay: $35 to $45 per hour, depending on experience
Location: 3205 N Twyman Rd, Independence, MO 64058
Schedule: 10 to 15 hours, per week with additional hours available during peak season or as system demands increase
Are an experienced HVAC professional who enjoys hands‑on work, collaboration, and mentoring others in a mission‑driven setting? Embark Behavioral Health in Independence, MO is expanding, and we are seeking a passionate and skilled HVAC Technician to join our team!
At our residential campus for teenagers, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our buildings safe, comfortable, and operational year-round. You will work closely with our maintenance team to diagnose, repair, and replace HVAC systems across a residential and commercial environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems, using Embark-provided tools and equipment
- Perform major repairs including recovery, brazing, vacuuming, charging, and system replacement
- Service 5‑ton split systems, mini‑splits, and large commercial units (up to 50‑ton)
- Safely handle refrigerants and complete proper system recovery
- Partner with and train Embark maintenance staff on HVAC best practices
- Support seasonal HVAC maintenance planning and documentation
Qualifications
- EPA 608 Certification, required
- Proven ability to independently diagnose and complete complex HVAC repairs
- Experience with heat pumps, mini‑splits, and commercial HVAC systems
- Hands‑on experience with brazing, charging, and system replacement
- Comfortable working in an active residential campus environment
- Knowledge of HVAC and maintenance safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and emergency procedures; CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to complete employer‑provided training. Must maintain a current Missouri driver’s license
