Who runs this site
BehavioralHealth.careers is owned and operated by Behavioral Health Careers, LLC. It was founded by Eric Reinach, a healthcare digital marketing consultant who has over 20 years of experience working in the space.
The site exists to bring salary transparency and practical career information to the behavioral health and addiction treatment workforce, funded by employer advertising rather than fees charged to job seekers.
How career content is produced
- Every guide starts with primary sources: state licensing board requirements, Bureau of Labor Statistics data, credentialing body standards (such as NAADAC and state certification boards), and published research where relevant. Claims about licensing, scope of practice, or credentials are cited to the source.
- Content is written by professional writers with healthcare experience and reviewed by Eric Reinach before publication
- We update career guides when licensing requirements or market conditions change, and each page shows its last-updated date.
- We write for the person actually searching: a counselor weighing a move into private practice reads a different page than a hospital system building a recruiting pipeline, and our content reflects that.
Where salary data comes from
Our salary figures draw on:
- Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, the most reliable public baseline for behavioral health occupations, cited with the survey year.
- Employer-posted ranges from job listings on our board and public postings, which show what the market offers right now rather than what surveys reported a year ago.
- When possible, we also use state workforce data, licensing board reports, and our own aggregated listing data.
When sources disagree, we say so and show the range rather than averaging the difference away. Salary figures are reference points, not guarantees; pay varies by state, setting, licensure level, and employer.
Advertising and editorial independence
Employers pay to post jobs and advertise on this site. That revenue keeps the site free for job seekers. Paid placements are labeled as such, and advertisers get no influence over career guides, salary figures, or editorial content. We do not accept payment to inflate a salary range, soften a licensing requirement, or recommend one employer over another in editorial content.
