About the Job:
The Business Office Coordinator is responsible for accurate, timely and complete documentation regarding insurance verification, billing and collections. Provides administrative support to the Business Office department. This position is onsite at the facility and is not a remote position.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Audits the admission packets and verifies benefits along with all clients demographic information in the client accounting system.
· Provides financial counseling and information to clients and/or guarantors regarding their benefits and financial obligations.
· Collects any out-of-pocket payments (deductibles, copays, exhausted days, etc.).
· Completes financial disclosure paperwork for clients that request assistance including verifying income and expenses.
· Completes adjustment forms for any charity or administrative adjustments for approval.
· Completes promissory notes for clients that request payment arrangements.
· Updates daily the upfront collection log, charity log, and admin adjustment log. Reviews with BOD on a weekly basis.
· Gathers and interprets data from system and takes appropriate course of action to initiate time-sensitive and strategic steps resulting in payment.
· Checks the accuracy of figures, calculations and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by others.
· Provides clerical support to other Business Office staff.

· Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains regulatory and industry standards.
· Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

· Maintains professionalism and confidentiality of facility employees and clients.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Two or more years' experience in related field required, preferably in behavioral health field.
· Extensive knowledge and understanding of Commercial Insurance and Medicare/Medicaid required.
